This song is a great way to share the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with others in one single verse, the most popular and most impactful verse of scripture. It is John 3:16 and it is sung to the tune of the popular carol “Silent Night” that is typically sung in celebration of the Lord’s birth.

Psalm 119, sung as a Scripture Song

The complete and unaltered text of Psalm 119 from the King James Bible in the form of musical settings composed and arranged by Frederick Steinruck, Michael Misiaszek, and Michael E. Owens. Feel free to download the mp3 files here in their entirety to aid your Bible memorisation efforts.

It is said that every verse in Psalm 119 refers to God’s Word in some way, whether it be His law, testimonies, ways, precepts, statutes, commandments and so on. How wonderful is God’s Word!

William Wilberforce, the famous abolitionist who campaigned for the abolition of slavery in the 1800’s until he died, memorised the entire chapter (yes, all 176 verses!) and would recite the chapter in 20 mins to and from Parliament. Read more about it here.

On the 26th July 1833, three days before Wilberforce passed away into eternity, he was informed that Parliament finally passed the Slavery Abolition Bill, to give freedom to slaves in the British Empire. Glory to God.
